Mandarin Jelly
Captivating with its vibrant and intense color, aromatic fragrance, sweet taste with a hint of acidity, and round appearance. Fresh, delicate, and digestive. Mandarins were cultivated thousands of years ago in Asia, originating from China. The first certain mention of this fruit dates back to the 12th century BC.
Introduced to Europe in the 19th century, it is primarily cultivated in the Mediterranean regions. It arrived in Sicily around 1800. The first specimens that arrived in Sicily from Malta were sold as ornamental plants.
Thanks to the rapid acclimatization of the plants in Sicilian soil, the production of mandarins began in the early years of their settlement. Today, it is one of the most beloved fruits and is an integral part of Italian culture.
